Due to the Energy Performance of Building Regulations 2007, commercial property owners are now responsible for the provision of Energy Performance Certificates (EPC’s).
Such certificates are required on the sale or letting of all commercial buildings from 1 October 2008 and from the 1st July 2011, all commercial properties require an EPC to be carried out prior to marketing commences. We are able to arrange for these to be carried out on your behalf.
As at the 6th April 2012, The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2011 came into force which now states that all properties required an EPC within 7 days from being marketed and the front page of the EPC needs to be attached to written property details.
We are able to obtain these on your behalf to meet with Government regulations.
It is suggested that from 2018, new EPC rules for England and Wales are proposing that any inefficient buildings will be prohibited from being able to be let. The aim is to enforce property owners and landlords to refurbish their properties to make them more energy efficient preventing them from becoming obsolete.
